this guy’s quitting social media (for as long as he can handle.)
what is social media to me? mainly it’s been twitter, facebook, instagram…etc.
for the last several years i’ve had to keep up with multiple accounts for different businesses and since that has lately taken a much lighter route—i have felt the need more and more to pause as these few weeks have gone on.
i don’t think we realize how much we either check our phones or our different sites daily…whether it’s to catch up on our friends or to just pass time.
i’ve been in it for about two days solid now and all i can say is—it’s different.
you don’t get news as quickly as you were used to and you don’t see what someone ate for dinner either. both upsides.
the only thing i did miss out until i checked stereogum.com this morning was how bad lana del rey did on SNL (of which, I will half-heartedly agree on) ((she’s still a sexy gal))
days are quieter really.
more time to drive in your car instead of take photos.
more time to talk to your friends at coffee instead of post to someone’s wall.
i feel like there’s more space to breathe. more things you get to keep to yourself.
and even more,
your own thoughts.
of which can be good for others but also potent.
the things that have been happening in my life have probably made the last few weeks the hardest of my life that i can recall—things are definitely reshaping and changing. and it has me all-ears.
and in the next few, i plan to make some progress.
always growing. always trying. always pushing.
since tumblr is personal to me, in all essence, i call this my own realm—so i can keep at it at my leisure. i need to keep writing.
as for twitting and effbooking…that can wait.
till then The CO will go on…as it must, becos there is work to be done and it’s about all i care for at the moment.
my iPhone feels almost useless right now, but at least the battery will last longer, right?
i feel like i’ve been missing out on the living part of life. i’m noticing my days more…you see more when you aren’t worried about showing it to someone else as well. you keep it to yourself. you realize the meaning in it before you let someone in with their own opinion.
